Watching Film on The Big Screen is an Event!

There are so many ways for us all to enjoy film these days, but at Theatr Gwaun, we think the best way is still on the Big Screen. Coming to Theatr Gwaun to watch a movie gives you a full cinematic experience with a rich, high resolution screen and Dolby Surround Sound – and there’s popcorn!

There are other ways for us to make your visit to Theatr Gwaun more enticing though of course and our regular Film Screenings with Q&As are one of the ways we can make your film screening ‘an event’ too.

 

Our Q&As are a fantastic way to explore the film and hear from the people that have made it, as well as specialists and invited guests bringing their own professional and personal perspectives.

In April 2025 we screened Mr. Burton, a biographical film about Philip Burton and the iconic actor that he adopted, Richard Burton. We invited the film’s director, Marc Evans, the producer Ed Talfan, Professor Angela V. John (Philip Burton’s biographer) and our special guest Griff Rhys Jones to join the Q&A panel, hosted by one of Trustees, Dr. Mike Ponsford. We have captured some fantastic moments from the evening in photographs (see below) and vox pops that give you a sense of what to expect at one of our Q&A sessions.
