INTRODUCING THE THEATR GWAUN WELSH FILM FESTIVAL

We’re delighted to launch an exciting new opportunity for filmmakers to see their work screened on the big screen at Theatr Gwaun.
Supported by Film Hub Wales, part of the BFI Film Audience Network, we’re inviting filmmakers from across Wales – and Welsh filmmakers working further afield – to submit their work for the first Theatr Gwaun Welsh Film Festival, taking place from 23 to 25 October 2026.
Celebrating 130 years of filmmaking in Wales, the festival will bring together films, filmmakers and audiences for a very special weekend in our cinema.
We’re looking for original short films that showcase the talent, creativity and variety of filmmaking connected to Wales. Selected films will be shown on our cinema screen as part of the festival programme.
Whether you’re an established filmmaker, an emerging creative, a student or making your very first film, we’d love to hear from you.
Submission deadline: Friday 18th September 2026
