Fishguard Film Society

bringing world cinema to your door

Established in 1994, Fishguard Film Society aims to bring the best of world cinema to the local community.

Our purpose has always been to watch a fine selection of international and arthouse films, sharing the experience in a relaxed environment with other admirers of non-mainstream cinema.

Fishguard Film Society has for many years had a close relationship with Theatr Gwaun. That has now become even closer, with the creation of our community film panel to select all the films to be shown in Theatr Gwaun. Alongside the main programme we will continue to present the Film Society’s own distinctive selection of international and arthouse films chosen by and for our members.

Cinema birds of passage

After the film some of us like to stay around and discuss it, while others prefer to slip away quietly and absorb what we have just seen. Either way, we hope you will enjoy the satisfying feeling that together we are championing artistic expression and offering a welcome to enquiring minds and sensitive souls!

Alongside the films we would like to develop a programme of events – talks, workshops, special screenings and social gatherings – so please do join us and bring your ideas to share.

Membership costs only £5 for the year (£3 for those under 18). Members are entitled to discounted admission to all our screenings, and to take part in member-only events and activities. (Non-members are welcome too, but have to pay full price; book in advance or pay at the box office.)

We welcome new members.
