Theatr Gwaun are in the process of upgrading our cinema equipment and are inviting tenders for the decommissioning and removal from site of our existing Sony projector and the supply, installation and commissioning of a new Barco laser projector and associated Barco playback server. Full details of the technical specifications and project timelines are noted below:
Auditorium Summary
Theatr Gwaun has a 180 seat auditorium and small proscenium arch stage. A rolldown screen on the stage is used to service our cinema provision.
Our current Digital Projector is a Sony SRX-R510 with an associated Sony XCT-S10 Playback Server.
Decommissioning and Removal of existing Sony Projector
Our current Sony SRX-R510 projector is to be electrically disconnected from the Sony XCT-S10 Playback Server and power source, mechanically disconnected from the Sony R5xx pedestal and removed from site and appropriately recycled/repurposed.
Please note, it will not be necessary to remove the Sony XCT-S10 Playback Server and associated touch-screen display from site, they will be retained by Theatr Gwaun.
Required Equipment Specification
(1 off) Projector: Barco SP2K-9S (S Lens) – Touch Screen Control – 8000 Lumen Light Output – 2200:1 Contrast Ratio
(1 off) Playback Server: Barco Alchemy ICMP-X
Playback Server Storage: 3 x 2TB drives giving approx. 3.6 TB of useable storage
(1 off) Projector Lens: Barco S-lens 2.0-3.9 (0.69inch DMD) suitable for S Series Projectors – Throw Width Ration 2.0-3.9
Warranty: All equipment supplied must have at least 36 months
Install, Test and Commission the new Barco Projector and associated Playback Server
Mechanically install the new Barco projector on the existing Sony R5xx pedestal, please include for all necessary adapters/fixings to repurpose the Sony pedestal for the Barco projector.
Install and configure the new Barco playback server.
Ensure all required electrical power and communications cabling to the projector, playback server, cinema sound system, LANsat, Server, MovieTransit Server, external automation items (stage curtain, house lights etc) are all installed and tested.
Provide a secure VPN connection to the playback server to allow remote access and programming of the projector and server for Theatr Gwaun Technical staff.
Test and commission the completed installation.
Installation Window
Delivery to site, installation and commissioning must all take place between Monday February 2nd 2026 and Friday February 6th 2026.
Quotation Validity and Deadline
All formal written quotations must be received by email (phowe@theatrgwaun.com) by 10:00am on Thursday December 18th 2025. The quotation must have a validity end date of at least 31/03/26.
