Visual Stories
Being an Aquarian I am at my happiest by the sea. I have been so lucky to have been brought up in Broad Haven. I lived for a short while in Abereiddy but now I’m just three miles from the coast in Treffynnon. Art and English are my passions. I either have a paintbrush or a pen in my hand when I’m not working at Haverfordwest High School as a Literary Support Assistant.
I love to paint what I see (with a little interpretation) and write stories (with a lot of imagination.) My dream is to illustrate a book. I painted the design for the front cover of my husband’s book, Alfred Centennial Johnson, the story of the first solo Atlantic crossing west to east, who first landed in Abercastle, after being blown off course on his way to Liverpool.
l am self-taught, and endeavour to pass on my knowledge to my grandchildren who l’m delighted to say are following in my footsteps, my little protegees. Both produce some amazing artwork. I enjoy working with watercolour and acrylic paints in a realistic style. I am fascinated by light over water and never cease to admire the colours and effects of nature. Pembrokeshire light is a wonderful subject and I continue to try to capture every precious moment. I spend a lot of my free time in Porthgain but always not in The Sloop.
I hope you enjoy my Visual Stories
